About the venue
Restaurant Fes El Bali is named after the old medina of Fez and carries that inspiration in stone: the patio behind the hall is fully tiled in hand-cut zellige that owner Nadia Bensaid had specially imported when she took over the business. On wedding nights, dinner moves from the hall out to the patio as the lanterns come on.
The hall and patio together seat 70 to 160 guests, with a mechoui pit for a whole roasted lamb as the centrepiece dish. Nadia speaks Arabic, French and Dutch, can arrange a neggafa with matching kaftans for the amariya moments on request, and usually replies within two days. No alcohol is served, but fresh mint tea flows all evening, and the all-female crew is standard for the bridal suite.
