About the venue
Pakhuis Osman Gazi printed newspapers and advertising flyers until the 2000s, and the steel trusses and cable runs on the ceiling were left exposed when the building was converted into an event space ten years ago. Its location in Kanaleneiland, a short walk from one of Utrecht's larger mosques, makes the hall a regular choice for families who want to combine Friday prayers with preparations for a wedding the following weekend.
Director Osman Güneş enforces a strict alcohol-free policy throughout the building, including during setup, and usually replies within two days. The hall seats 250 to 400 guests, has its own commercial kitchen, and allows guests to bring their own sound and lighting crew at no extra charge for using the system already installed.
