About the venue
Kohinoor Banquetzaal was purpose-built as a banquet hall in 2016, not converted from a factory or a farm, and director Rajesh Autar had it built pillar-free so the kosha stage stays visible from every table. The name, taken from the famous diamond, is spelled out in a light installation above the stage.
The hall seats 220 to 420 guests and has a professional kitchen set up for deg cooking at scale, with a separate warming room for caterers who prefer to bring their own dishes. Rajesh usually replies within two days, speaks Hindoestani and Dutch, and can book dhol drummers for the baraat entrance on request. There is no curfew, an in-house sound technician is included, and the car park holds more than a hundred cars.
