About the venue
Kilim Balo Evi takes its name from the foyer: a hallway lined with hand-woven kilim rugs, collected by the founding family over three generations, that guests pass through before entering the hall. The hall itself is laid out for Turkish weddings start to finish, with a raised stage for the couple and enough floor space for a proper halay circle dance.
Seating 260 up to 380, the hall runs weddings, engagements and henna nights year-round, and the whole evening is alcohol-free by house policy. Hall manager Fatma Şahin, who usually replies within two days, speaks Turkish and Dutch and can arrange a keskek cauldron for the traditional meal on request.
