Hotel Brasserie De Poort is a boutique hotel on the Grote Markt in Nijmegen, where the ground-floor brasserie is converted into a reception room in the evening while the rooms above house the couple and their guests. It cuts out the after-party transport problem: everyone just walks upstairs after the last dance instead of calling a taxi, and the hotel keeps all 22 rooms reserved for weekend weddings by default.
The brasserie itself seats 85 up to 130 and runs on a fixed in-house kitchen that handles the whole menu, from a walking dinner to a seated meal. Hotel manager Bas Dijkstra, who usually replies within two days, arranges the room block and the reception programme as one package rather than two separate bookings.
