About the venue
The Zilveren Meeuw has sat in the same spot on the Prinsengracht since the seventies and won't be leaving the quay during the wedding either — the glass dome above the saloon is what sets it apart: daylight and the Jordaan's facades stay visible while dinner happens inside, with nobody getting seasick. In good weather, the dome partly slides open for drinks.
The saloon seats 50 to 130 guests in round-table layout, with a small galley on board for keeping externally catered food warm. Owner Femke de Boer arranges the permit for guest bike-taxis to pull up right by the gangway and usually replies within two days. Heating, a sound system and a fixed bar corner are all on board.
