About the venue
Bosphorus Balo Evi is a Turkish banquet house in Utrecht, named after the strait that separates Europe and Asia, and that shows in the welcome: guests are greeted at the entrance by a davul-zurna procession, the drum-and-horn duo that also plays weddings out in the street in Turkey. From there the evening runs fully alcohol-free, as a fixed house rule on every booking.
Hall manager Emre Kaya works in Kanaleneiland, where many of the guests are from anyway, and speaks Turkish with most visiting families. The hall seats 170 to 210 guests, has its own Turkish coffee station and in-house DJ, and Emre usually replies within two days.
