About the venue
Zilte Zegen Strandtuin started as the Benali family's vegetable garden along the Nederrijn and grew into a small plot with a strip of sand at the water and a garden around it, set up after daughter Sarah Benali couldn't find a halal beach venue for her own wedding and decided to start one herself. The grounds are small enough to feel like they truly belong to the party, and big enough for a full reception.
Sarah now runs the venue with her brother and usually replies within one day; she can arrange a mechoui pit for dinner on request. Everything is halal and alcohol-free, there is a small separate prayer room in the garden house, and in rain the party moves into an adjoining conservatory.
