About the venue
Zaal Het Open Huis was added onto the mosque on Bredaseweg ten years ago, built specifically for the growing group of Dutch converts and mixed families in Tilburg who want their nikah conducted in Dutch. The hall serves the mosque itself on weekdays and opens up for weddings at weekends, with its own entrance separate from the prayer room so the party and mosque life never collide.
Manager Hendrik-Jan Kuijpers, a convert himself and long active in the community, can arrange an imam who leads the ceremony in Dutch on request and usually replies within one day. The hall seats 150 to 260 guests, works with a halal caterer from the city, and runs fully alcohol-free; free parking is available on the grounds.
