About the venue
Strandtent Zonnegloren sits on the Sloterplas, the reclaimed inland lake at the edge of Amsterdam, with a wooden deck looking straight out over the water. The ceremony takes place on the deck as the sun drops over the lake, and the party then moves to the terrace and the hall behind it.
Owner Sven Bakker, who usually replies within three days, keeps an 11pm outdoor curfew because of the residential neighbourhood further along, but indoors the party simply continues after that. The beach club has its own bar, serves alcohol, and can arrange a DJ on request; in case of rain, everything simply shifts inside.
