About the venue
Sint-Janskerkzaal served as a parish church until the 1990s and has since been deconsecrated, but the building itself has barely changed: the high-vaulted nave, the row of columns, and the stained-glass windows have all been preserved. The result is an event hall with a scale and a light that no new build can imitate, suited to both a religious and a civil ceremony.
The hall seats 150 to 400 guests and pairs the original architecture with modern equipment: a full sound system, heating that can handle the tall nave, and an adjoining sacristy now serving as the bridal suite. Manager Thomas Verhoeven usually replies within two days and can arrange a separate civil-ceremony spot in the entrance hall on request.
