About the venue
Shakti Tuinpaviljoen was not converted from an ordinary function hall, it was designed from the drawing board around a raised mandap stage at its centre. The pavilion itself is mostly glass, so the mandap ceremony stays visible from every corner of the hall while the landscaped gardens around it form the backdrop.
The hall seats 150 to 280 guests and the glass walls double as rain protection, so an outdoor-facing ceremony is not left to the weather. Events manager Sunita Baldewsingh usually replies within two days, speaks Hindoestani and Dutch, and works from a kitchen set up for deg cooking for large parties.
