About the venue
Shabnam Tuinzaal is an Afghan event venue in Utrecht, built around an enclosed garden used for both the engagement ceremony and the henna night before the party moves indoors for the main celebration. The hall and garden together hold 250 to 320 guests, split across separable spaces for the different parts of the evening.
Hall manager Freshta Rahimi, who usually replies within two days, specialises in guiding families through the sequence of engagement, henna, and wedding, with a takht stage for the couple and a kitchen built for traditional deg cooking. The house is fully alcohol-free, has a prayer room with wudu facilities, and the team speaks Farsi/Dari.
