About the venue
Rivierboot De Comtesse follows a fixed route on the Merwede during the ceremony itself, so the couple exchanges vows with the passing water as the backdrop rather than a boat sitting still at the dock. After the ceremony the boat moors at a quiet landing for dinner, with the lower deck as a fallback in rain.
The boat holds 80 to 150 guests, has its own galley for hot dishes, and an outer deck accessible all the way around for photos. Skipper and owner Kees Vermeulen usually replies within two days and times the route to the ceremony so the light is right during the vows.
