About the venue
Restaurant De Gouden Karper sits on the Nieuwe Rijn in Leiden, with large windows over the canal and a kitchen that serves a fixed five-course tasting menu for weddings rather than an extensive buffet. The restaurant has only fourteen tables, so a wedding here always stays a small, intimate gathering.
The dining room seats 70 to 100 guests and can be booked exclusively for the whole restaurant. Chef-owner Bram Kuiper usually replies within two days, works without an in-house DJ but allows a couple to bring their own DJ or duo, and pours wine paired with each course of the menu.
