About the venue
Restaurant Anatolia Sofra has been run by the Yıldız family for nearly twenty years on the Deurningerstraat in Enschede, and the function room at the back was added once demand for a private space for Turkish weddings outgrew the restaurant itself. A saz player moves between the tables during dinner, and the night builds naturally into the first halay rounds once dessert is served.
The room seats 60 to 140 guests and is built entirely around the Turkish kitchen: no outside caterer, everything comes from the in-house kitchen, including gelin pilavı for the wedding table. Owner Mehmet Yıldız can also arrange a gelin yolu procession to the entrance on request and usually replies within two days. A Turkish coffee corner stays open all evening, parking is free outside, and no alcohol is served.
