About the venue
Rasoi Paleis is a banquet hall in Rotterdam-Zuid built entirely around the Hindostani wedding ritual: a raised four-pillar mandap stands permanently at the centre of the hall, and a wide central aisle runs from the main entrance to the stage so the tassa drummers can bring the groom in in full procession. The kitchen carries its own tandoor setup for dishes that need more than a standard commercial kitchen.
The hall seats 350 guests, split between a main hall and a separate room for the henna evening. Hall manager Rakesh Mahabier, who speaks Hindostani with his guests and usually replies within three days, plans the evening together with the pandit around the right timing for each part of the ritual. Free parking out front and round tables for 350 come as standard.
