About the venue
Paleis Shirin-e-Shab is an Afghan banquet hall in Almere that lives up to its name, "sweetness of the night", with an evening program that starts in the late afternoon and does not end until after midnight. The celebration opens with a tea ceremony for the older guests, builds through the couple entrance, and closes with the attan, where the whole hall dances in circles.
Hall manager Homayoun Rassa speaks Dari and Farsi with most booking families and usually replies within two days. The hall seats 170 to 220 guests, runs its own halal kitchen and an in-house DJ who knows the pace of every part of the evening, and is fully alcohol-free.
