About the venue
The Oude Compagnie hauled goods between the Kattenburg warehouses for decades before its hold was stripped back to a bare, industrial space with visible rivets and steel ribs — not a dressed-up hall, but a boat that shows its working past. The barge stays permanently moored on the canal, close to the Scheepvaartmuseum.
The hold seats 70 to 160 guests and was deliberately built pillar-free, which makes it suit a large dance floor alongside the dinner tables. Skipper Thijs Bakker, who took the boat over from his father, allows any outside caterer and arranges the generators for power himself. He usually replies within two days and likes early setup, a full day ahead if scheduling allows.
