Pakhuis De Generator was once the warehouse next to a power station in Enschede and has kept the bare brick walls and high ceilings from that past. The hall is pillar-free and holds 130 to 190 guests, with a sound system that fills the whole building without neighbours to complain.
Owner Tessa Bruggeman, who usually replies within four days since she runs the hall alongside other work, allows live bands with no decibel limit, something few halls on this list offer. Caterers can be chosen freely and the hall has its own warm-up kitchen for those who want to use it.
