About the venue
The Ontmoetingskerk merged with a neighbouring congregation in 2011, and the building on Getfertsingel took on a new life as a rentable event hall. The tall niche behind the former liturgical centre is now a prayer room with wudu facilities, and the flat roof of the extension holds a small rooftop terrace mostly used for the photo shoot.
At 200 to 380 guests, the hall is one of the larger venues in Enschede for Turkish and Moroccan weddings. Manager Zeynep Yildiz speaks Turkish and Dutch and usually replies within two days; she can arrange a DJ familiar with both Turkish and western setlists on request. The kitchen is fully halal-fitted, there is a separate entrance for the bridal procession, and the sound can run into the early hours.
