About the venue
Lotus Sabha Zuid started in 1994 as a small hall above a shop in the Afrikaanderwijk and, three generations later, has grown into a stand-alone banquet hall still owned by the same family. The kitchen bakes roti and bara the same way it did for the very first wedding the hall ever hosted, and that kitchen sits apart from the hall so staff can keep working undisturbed during the ceremony.
The hall seats 150 to 260 guests, with a small inner courtyard where the henna evening is often held when the weather allows. Owner Meena Chotkan personally tastes every catering menu together with the family before it's locked in, and usually replies within 2 days. Free parking on the street and an in-house tandoor setup come with every booking.
