About the venue
Loods Bosphorus Utrecht was the workshop where Utrecht's trams were maintained until the depot closed in 2008, and sections of rail still run through the floor as a reminder. A group of Turkish entrepreneurs bought the building in 2016 and converted the high, covered hall into one of the few venues in the city able to host large Turkish weddings running into the hundreds of guests.
Manager Derya Aydemir has worked here since it opened and usually replies within two days, mostly by phone since many of her regular clients prefer that. The hall has its own halal kitchen, a Turkish coffee station, and room for a keskek cauldron on the adjoining outdoor grounds for anyone who wants to include that in the wedding.
