About the venue
The beech avenue at Landgoed Berkenrode is older than the house itself: the trees were planted around 1710, decades before the current ballroom was added to the main house. Couples marrying here today arrive down the same avenue that has carried brides to the front door for three centuries, and the ballroom itself, with a six-metre ceiling and its original stucco cornices, now serves as the reception and dinner hall.
Estate manager Floor Hendriks arranges a ride down the avenue in a historic carriage for most couples, something she insists on whenever the weather allows, and usually replies to enquiries within two days. The ballroom and adjoining conservatory together seat 90 to 260 guests, with an in-house kitchen, a bar that is not mandatory, free parking on the grounds, and a covered terrace as backup in case of rain.
