About the venue
Kasteel Hooghout was built in the nineteenth century as a hunting lodge and still sits hidden among oak trees, at the end of a drive that can be walked, cycled, or taken by carriage. There is no manicured lawn as at many castles, just forest right up to the walls, which keeps the feel rustic rather than formal.
The courtyard and adjoining hunting hall together seat 45 to 130 guests. Manager Joris van der Berg grew up by the castle and knows every path in the woods, handy for a photo moment among the trees before the ceremony. Heated cover for rain, a fireside room for drinks, and free parking at the edge of the forest are included.
