About the venue
Huis van Verbinding was set up by a foundation formed jointly by the mosque board and the local Protestant church, after years of watching both communities’ wedding guests struggle with two separate venues in one day. The house has a prayer room for the nikah and a garden with terrace for the Dutch reception afterward, both under the same roof.
The house suits 70 to 130 guests and deliberately runs a team that speaks Arabic and English alongside Dutch, for families arriving from different corners of a couple’s life. Coordinator Rutger Smits joined the foundation from the church side himself and usually replies within a day; outside catering is welcome alongside the in-house kitchen. The garden, a covered terrace for rainy days, and free parking on the street are always available.
