About the venue
Hotel De Schelde sits on the harbour in Breda, with a ballroom that has large windows along the waterside and looks straight out over the mooring quays. In recent years more and more Turkish-Dutch couples have booked here, largely for the fixed catering partner that works entirely halal and the licensed bar that pours alcohol for guests who want it alongside alcohol-free options for those who prefer that.
The ballroom seats 120 to 200 guests and the hotel works from a fixed run sheet for mixed guest lists, from the civil ceremony through to a late evening with a DJ and dance floor. Wedding coordinator Elif Demir speaks Turkish and Dutch, usually replies within two days, and overnight rooms for the couple are included in every package.
