About the venue
Hoeve Panjshir is a sheep farm that owner Freshta Noori named after the valley her family comes from, and where she started renting out the meadow for weddings ten years ago after seeing how many Afghan families struggled to find an affordable, informal spot near Almere. A large carpeted tent goes up on the meadow, lined inside with kilims Freshta chose herself.
The meadow suits 90 to 180 guests, and Freshta usually replies within two days. She arranges a mobile tandoor for fresh bread at dinner and a separate qahwa corner where guests are served green tea on arrival. No alcohol is served, there is a prayer room in an adjoining barn, and in case of rain the tent can be reinforced with extra covering.
