About the venue
Havezate Ter Cleve is one of the last surviving fortified houses around Haarlem, still ringed by its moat, with an orchard that has occupied the same plot since the nineteenth century. In autumn the apple and pear trees hang full of fruit, right when most weddings here take place.
Owner Joost van Dam lives in the house himself and is personally involved in nearly every wedding, from the chapel hall for the ceremony to the great hall for dinner. He usually replies within two days. The manor seats 100 to 240 guests, with an in-house kitchen, a bar that is not mandatory, and free parking on the forecourt.
