About the venue
Gulzar Paleis in Almere is built around a raised mandap stage at the centre of the hall, keeping the ceremonial heart of a Hindostani wedding visible from every table rather than tucked in a corner. Next to the main hall sits a separate, quiet room set up specifically for the tea ceremony, where the couple honours parents and elder family members.
The hall seats up to 280 guests, with its own kitchen, a bridal suite, and a dance floor that handles the dhol drums with ease. Venue manager Ravi Autar usually replies within two days and speaks both Sarnami and Dutch; the bar is open and drinks are allowed alongside the elaborate tea arrangement.
