About the venue
De Zilte Hoeve ran as a working dairy farm until 2019, and the owners deliberately kept most of it intact: the old milking parlour is now a warm-up kitchen, the hay barn a covered terrace, and the meadow behind it serves as the ceremony field with the IJssel river in the background. For Afghan weddings a separate prayer room with wudu facilities was added right next to the main barn.
Owner Fatima Noorzai often arranges the attan dance with an in-house DJ setup and usually replies the same day. The barn seats 150 to 250 guests, there is a separate bridal suite, and the yard has free parking for close to a hundred cars.
