About the venue
De Wilgenhoeve sits directly on the Oude Rijn near Leiden, with pollard willows along the bank where the ceremony takes place while the odd rowing boat passes by. Afterwards the party walks to the barn, which is rented as a shell: no fixed bar, no fixed menu, guests arrange their own caterer and drinks.
The venue has room for 130 guests between meadow and barn. Owner Anneke van Rijn, who usually replies within four days, allows setup a full day in advance so a marquee or decor is ready in time. Outdoor cooking on the grounds is allowed, as is a DJ late into the night, and there is free parking right on the farmyard.
