About the venue
De Oude Veerstal was, until the nineties, the yard where Dordrecht's ferries were serviced, and the space still carries that past visibly: bare concrete floors, a full-height steel roof structure, and the old hoist rails still fixed to the ceiling. Rather than covering that up, the space has been converted into an event venue exactly as it stands.
The hall is pillar-free and seats 140 to 280 guests, with its own power supply for an external sound system and no fixed end time for the music. Venue manager Bram Kok works with a fixed list of caterers and decorators who are free to bring their own setup, and usually replies within two days.
