About the venue
De Oude Stadsbrouwerij is a 19th-century brewery in Groningen that was never fully gutted: the copper brew kettles are still there, polished and lit, standing in the middle of the hall where weddings now happen. The rough brick walls, cast-iron beams and wooden floor are original, and the whole space reads more like a museum that happens to host parties than a converted warehouse.
The hall seats 130 to 300 guests and is pillar-free, so every table arrangement has a clear view of the kettles. Event manager Sofie Bakker usually replies within a day and will arrange an outside caterer alongside the in-house kitchen on request. Live music is allowed with no sound limit, and there is a full bar with alcohol included.
