About the venue
De Oude Pastorie was the village vicar's home until the 1970s and still stands next to the small chapel where he preached. The building has stayed small, with wooden floors and the original hearth in the reception room, deliberately never extended into a large hall: the chapel seats up to 60 for a religious ceremony, the garden behind it up to 90 for a reception.
That makes De Oude Pastorie suited to couples after a small, personal celebration rather than a big hall. Caretaker Anneke Vermeulen lives right next to the parsonage, knows every corner of the building, and usually replies within one day. There is no in-house kitchen; outside caterers are welcome, as is bringing your own drinks, and the garden has a marquee as rain backup.
