About the venue
De Open Hof was an active Reformed neighbourhood church in north Arnhem until 2013, when shrinking attendance led the congregation to hand the building to a neighbourhood foundation. That foundation now rents out the former church hall for everything from community parties to Islamic weddings, and has fitted a prayer room with wudu taps into the old side kitchen.
The hall holds 180 to 350 guests on a flat floor with no fixed pews, making the layout easy to rearrange. Manager Fatima Zahra Amrani usually replies within two days and can arrange an all-female team for the bridal room on request. The kitchen suits outside halal caterers, there is a side entrance, and plenty of free parking on the school yard next door.
