About the venue
De Mirwais Hoeve was a poultry farm until ten years ago, and the three owners, a brother and two sisters, converted the long sheds themselves into two connected reception barns, re-clad outside in vertical timber. The garden between them serves as a walking path for guests and as the spot for the processional entrance many Afghan weddings choose here.
Eldest sister Zarghona Mirwais coordinates most bookings and usually replies within a day, preferring a phone call. The two barns together seat 100 to 280 guests, there is a separate prayer room with wudu facilities, and the kitchen is fully set up for on-site deg cooking.
