About the venue
The Hoeksteenkerk closed its doors as a Reformed congregation in 2017 and was handed to a neighbourhood foundation that opened the building to the district. Alongside weekly community activities, the foundation rents the church hall for weddings, with an attached wing fitted out as a prayer room with separate wudu facilities for men and women.
The hall holds 160 to 300 guests and has a raised stage where the pulpit once stood, now used for the couple. Manager Rachid Boukhris usually replies within two days and can supply a list of regular, foundation-approved halal caterers. There is free parking on the school grounds next to the church and a separate approach for the bridal procession.
