About the venue
Boerderij Kohsar is an orchard farm on the edge of Almere, named after the Kohsar mountain range, and the wall behind the takht stage in the barn carries a painted ridge line the owners had made from a photo of their childhood home. The orchard around the barn is lit with lanterns in summer to welcome guests before dinner.
Manager Homayoun Rahimi, who usually replies within three days, sets up the yard with a tandoor oven and a wood-fired deg pot for the wedding meal. The barn holds 180 to 340 guests and includes a prayer room with wudu facilities. There is an in-house DJ setup for the attan dance later in the evening, and parking on the yard is free.
