About the venue
Bagh-e-Babur Tuinzaal sits on one of the few slopes Nijmegen has, and owner Rohullah Sultani deliberately built the garden into four stepped terraces, echoing the famous Bagh-e Babur gardens in Kabul he often visited as a child. At the bottom lies the terrace for the reception, at the top of the slope a quiet prayer room looks out over the city.
The hall is built for 55 to 100 guests, spread across the terraces and a covered section at the bottom for rainy days. Rohullah usually replies within two days and works with a regular deg cook who prepares food outdoors over a wood fire for larger parties. There is a separate room for the engagement ceremony, free parking at the foot of the slope, and no alcohol is served.
