About the venue
Atelier Kabul Blauw was a working ceramics studio until a few years ago, and the owner deliberately kept the distinctive blue glazed tiling on the walls when he converted the space into a wedding venue. The name refers to that blue, reminiscent of the famous tilework of mosques in Kabul, and gives the small hall a calm, muted atmosphere well suited to a private nikah.
Owner Homayoun Rasekh, who grew up in the neighbourhood, handles styling and sound himself with one regular team and usually replies within two days. The hall seats 30 to 55 guests, there is a small stage for the takht seating, and the venue sits within walking distance of a mosque for those who want to combine prayer with the celebration.
